My parents are here. They are leaving tmw. I am so sleepy and it's only 9:30. That's what gettin' up early will do to you. It rained here for like 24 hours straight. I mean like really rained...no sprinkles, but monster drops and tornados and stuff. My poodles have tracked in most of the mud from the backyard so my carpet is a new color of redish sand brown. Preeety. I also laid down in bed last night and it was gritty. My mom was watching the poos. Seems she let Frank lay up there. Nothing like a good exfoliation while sleeping. Gross. If this is any indication of how good mom's gona watch any future kids...um, they may not leave my side until they start kindergarten!!

TCS: Tech Central Station - The Diet Problem: "Sandy Szwarc"

Sandy Szwarc is my hero. If I had read this article when I was like 12 I would still be fat...because, well, I was then...but not this fat. And bastards like Weight Watchers Camp aka pig farm (yes, I chose to live there for a month at 14) would not have had my $$. It just continually blows my mind that we know that diets don't work and the media still doesn't pick up on it....I mean, really it doesn't...it is a billion dollar industry...but still. That is so dishonest.

International No Diet Day (INDD)--Love Your Body! is coming up. I think I will have a party. Even if me and Vic are the only attendants. I always think about it, INDD that is...but this year I think I will do something fun like try a new recipe and make us a tasty homemade dessert...Vic's mom gave me her recipe for cherry sheet cake that Vic loves...I think I will make it.

WellnessGear Digital Step Pedometer: The Walker's Warehouse

My mom just let me order this, in purple no less. She got one and keeps telling me how many steps she took and I want to tell her how many I took too.

She's a dork though...the first day she had it she called all upset because everyone is supposed to walk 10,000 steps a day and she had walked 2 times that day, gone to the grocery store, home depot, and vacuumed the whole house...and hers said she had walked 423 steps. She was so sad. So that night she was reading the instructions and noticed that it said that it had to be on your waist band to work...she had hers on the NECK OF HER SHIRT!! Duh. So the next day she did much less and it said she walked 10,000 something.

Of course, I just have to add this because well...you never know if I have a new "reader"....neither of us (me or Mom) would do something to attempt to loose weight...health is a much better motivator and movement should be fun!!

Speaking of cats...while we were gone pet sitter Sheri accidentally lost my Pesty Cat (Chester). She called us freaking out last Sunday because he was no where to be found. She was trying to get the poodles back into their palace and left the back door open for a few. Seems the temptation was too great. She looked, Teri and Heather came over to help her look, she called animal control, left the garage door cracked so he would come in if he came home and slept in the living room so she could hear him if he was crying in the backyard.

I cried, dreamed he and Rowdy were in heaven together, and just generally felt sick about the whole thing. He's such a baby...though he does have his claws...he's never been outside before in his 13 months of life!!

So when we came home, I went to the pound and called all the little towns around here's animal control. Noone had any info. So for the next few days I stared into the backyard with no signs of Pesty.

THEN! Thursday night, Sheri and I were on the phone when I noticed that Nancy had her front paws in the window seal and was wagging her nub. That's what she does about 3-5 times a day this time of year when we have cottontail bunnies in the yard (we affectionately call them Nancy's bunnies). So I figured she was just crying wolf, when I looked outside to see a small gray Pesty walking back towards the woods. So I ran outside (naked) and couldn't see him. I came back in and got the Pounce treat can and ran back outside (naked) and shook the can. He instantly started meowing really fast and after he figured out the dogs were not outside with me, he came running. He is so skinny, and as soon as I got him in the house he went bounding towards the food bowl where he stayed most of the night. But other than that, he's in perfect health. He must be much tougher than I thought, because 4.5 days out in the forest behind our house couldn't have been easy. Especially since one night the low was 37!! He has not left my side since he came home and runs the other way everytime I open any of the outside doors. Carson is so happy to have his brother back too, he keeps giving him baths. So sweet!

And I had said a week or so before we left that we needed to have him declawed when we came back. I am SO glad we hadn't or we probably would still be Pesty-less. But I still think we might, this was a freak deal. I could never have outside cats, I would worry way too much about the. And, yes, he is fixed. All of our fur babies are genderless.

Almost forgot...

Big Willie Style passed the P.A.T....shot 5 under! Yeah!
1.Grab the nearest book.

2.Open the book to page 23.

3.Find the fifth sentence.

4.Post the text of the sentence on your blog.

Here's mine:

The guy had a certain muscular resemblance to Popeye the Sailor, although I'd eat a can of spinach on the spot if he turned out to be a hard-working, good-natured type.--Lynne Murray, At Large

Um. I made it home. I can not bare to re-hash the whole horrible thing. Suffice to say that the entire time it seemed like his family just cussed at each other and hit each other. I hated everything there was to eat...it all swam or was weird, like caviar and raw beef. NYC is gross, crowed, and made me feel claustrophobic. Baltimore was ok. I also hurt my knee while gone...can barely walk today and have a UTI plus some other strange thing. I'm going to the Dr. in the morning. I love Texas/New Mexico. I know I could never ever live on the east coast.

Ohhh, one cool thing...I've now been to New Jersey. I have always wanted to go. I wanted to feel connected to Jon (bon Jovi, that is) and now I do. I've been to his homeland. Swoon.

States I visited on this trip: Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, New York...I had never been to any of those before!!

The inlaws are crazier than I knew. I'm so ready to come home. 48 hrs and counting. Pray I make it alive!! Seriously...

Ok, my little food questionnaire is all fixed now. I found it, posted it to my blog but didn't publish, and then the next time I blogged I was in a hurry and forgot about it so it still have the old answers. But now it's al la Amanda.

I'm leaving on my trip today. I am so nervous. I can't believe I'm spending 6.5 days w/ his mother and sister. But Vic is excited. And he's so good about doing things w/ my family. Only thing is, he likes my family and they like him. Or at least they pretend to like him! I do love to go new places too so I am excited about that.

Kim, Bryan, Drew, Mandy Rue, Teri, Vic & Myself had dinner and drinks last night. Mandy brought pineapple juice & malibu rum...Teri brought beer...I had a box o' wine. Mandy's happy stuff tasted like Mexico. I drank a lot but over a long period of time and never even had a buzz. But sure did have a hang over. That sucks. But it was fun. And we sat in the dining room. That was weird. Baby Drew has his surgery in the morning at 7:30 am. So everyone be praying from him and the doctors cutting on his sweet baby head.

I'll be back on the 13th...but will try to blog from MD or NY. Peace out.

The history of... cell phones, satellite tv, credit cards & more revealed!

I like this website.

Kim & Bryan & Drew are spending the night tonight. Teri & Mandy are coming over for dinner. I'm making homemade lasagna, salad, & bread. I've been cleaning since yesterday and I don't feel like anything has been accomplished because I'm also trying to get ready for the trip too. But I'm going to drink some vino & brewskies tonight and just be happy. And tmw I'll be hung over. Just like the good ol' days.

Moe, I have been meaning to tell you...Kim & Bryan's anniversary is July 17...this year will be 5 years for them. I always confuse Misti & Danny's and Kim & Bryan's. Now I won't...M & D's is first, and K & B's AND M & A's is second. Get it, one on the first date and two on the second. Now I will never be confused again. Thank you for changing the date.

I also feel the need to point out right now that I have a new friend, Sheri. She is my animal sitter and in Corinth Civic League with me. So now I have MistI, TerI, and SherI. That is out of control. Just call me Amandi.

I had saved this to do it later and then forgot about it...so it's updated now. And though I sound picky, I am really not. Just about meat. I do admit that I'm picky about meat...I would actually be happy being a vegetarian again, but I live w/ a carnivorous husband and if I have to mess w/ cooking it...I'm gona eat it. So though this is terribly pointless, I thought it was interestin'...

I forgot to mention that last week we took Vic to get a second opinion on the amazing cured brain. They concurred. He still wants him to have another angiogram in 1 year and he still thinks he should have the cyst fixed. Fixing the cyst is still a major surgery, they cut skull out and he has to be in the hospital mim. 5 days...but they don't have to dig IN the the brain. Just on the outside of it cause that's where the cyst is. And the cyst is not life threatening like the AVM was. We are still just ridin' the high of the AVM being gone and don't know if he's going to fix the cyst yet. He says he probably will, but nothing definite and it will not be immediate. The reason he wants to fix it is because he can feel the pressure in his head & it's effecting his speech & memory slightly and that's what they think the seizures have been from. But they aren't sure and they don't promise it will fix these issues, so that's why we don't know what we are doing. But in any case, we are both so thankful that the worst part is gone...now we can focus on the lesser of the two evils which is now the only evil :)!

Mr. Vic is the big 2-9 today. The last birthday beginning with a 2 unless he lives to be 200. That seems so old, 29 and 200. But I know that I'm not THAT far behind. Actually, 26 seems really old and that's creepin' up on me.

Last night we went to Tx Land and Cattle in Frisco, went to the mall, got cheesecake to go at the Cheesecake Factory, came home, went to bed. Today we went to lunch at Sweetwater and then he tortured me with a trip to Home Deee-pot. I *hate* it there. Well, actually, only with him. I can not look at screws and nails for a hour. Today we looked at trees, bags of sand, and the tool rental crap. I ended up going to the car, without a fight which would be the first time in history to happen. I guess he had a nice birthday. I didn't get him anything, not even a card. He's not into that stuff so I decided to save the money for DC and NYC next week. I don't think I've mentioned that we are going...

We are flying to Baltimore on Wed to stay w/ his mom & sister (grrrrr, but damnit I'm pleasant!) and then driving w/ them to Long Island, NY to his aunts wedding, AND then coming back to Baltimore for a day or so and coming home Tue. I'm excited to get to go on a trip, even if I do have to endure the in-laws. I keep telling myself that maybe we can get to know each other better and they will be nicer to me. But then I sober up. Anyway, Vic and I will have fun!
